I had a college business student ask me why we even need the term Positive Leadership. “Why don’t we just call it leadership,” he asked.

I explained it’s like the term “organic” food. Why do we call it “organic”?

Why don’t we just call it food?

Because over the years we have changed the way food is grown and produced. We have contaminated our food supply with chemicals to the point where we had to give food, the way it used to be grown, a new name.

We’ve done the same thing to leadership over the years.

We’ve contaminated it with bad leadership, ego, pride, narcissism, division and fear to the point that we had to give it a new name.

Positive Leadership.

Positive leadership serves, encourages, builds trust, develops people, creates belief and makes everyone around you better.

Positive leadership isn’t a different kind of leadership.

It’s actually the way leadership was and is supposed to be.
