When someone is struggling with their mental health, a simple check-in from a friend or family member can make all the difference.
Gordie McClay and Jon Gordon created Check-In, a weekly online gathering, to encourage and connect people and let them know they matter and are not alone.
Whether you are struggling with your mental health or just need a little encouragement for the week we invite you to check-in with us and check-in with someone you care about and see how they are doing.
Jon Gordon is a 19× bestselling author of popular books including One Truth, and a thought leader who impacts millions of people each year with his books, talks, podcasts and messages. He is a top keynote speaker and leadership consultant to CEOs, championship coaches and teams, school districts, healthcare systems and nonprofits.
Gordie McClay is a retired 28-year U.S. Coast Guard veteran, longtime educator, coach, and leadership trainer. After losing his brother Allan to suicide, Gordie became deeply committed to helping people understand the importance of connection and the simple act of checking in with one another.
Gordie contributed to the early beginnings of Foundation 33 and now serves on its board. The foundation works to support families impacted by suicide and mental health struggles, first responders, and young people through scholarships and community outreach.
His experience losing Allan inspired his book, Check In, and the message at the heart of his work: we never really know what someone may be carrying, and sometimes one conversation, one phone call, or one check-in can make a difference.
